Senate throws FDA user fees into disarray

WASHINGTON - The fate of FDA user fees for Fiscal 1994 will be determined by a House-Senate conference committee that is reconciling differences in agriculture appropriations bills passed by the two bodies.

The Senate last week passed a $71 billion agriculture appropriations bill containing $925 million for the FDA, including $175 million in user fees. The House version provides a similar level of funding without user fees...
