Exploratory cash for dementia

The newly launched Dementia Discovery Fund is going far upstream of traditional VCs in hopes of finding novel biology for neurodegenerative disorders. Originally announced in March, the $100 million fund launched last week with SV Life Sciences as fund manager (see BioCentury, March 23).

According to SVLS's Kate Bingham, "The goal of the fund is to get drugs with completely novel mechanisms and early signs of efficacy into the clinic." ...
