Tesaro Inc (NASDAQ:TSRO) and Supernus
Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:SUPN) completed IPOs in 2Q12, raising $133.2
million. Tesaro, which priced with only two trading days left in the quarter,
ended up 4%. Supernus rose 87% since its IPO, driven by FDA's tentative
approval of Trokendi XR topiramate on June 25. Including the seven biotechs
raising $454.4 million in 1Q12, the total raised via IPOs in the first half was
$587.6 million, ahead of the $514.2 million raised by 11 companies in 1H11. The
1H12 group was up a median of 5% for the quarter. Of the three companies down
since their IPOs, two were French biotechs - DBV Technologies
(Euronext:DBV) and Adocia S.A.S. (Euronext:ADOC). The overall French
market, as gauged by the CAC 40 Index, fell 7% last quarter as a result of the
