The vast bulk of the money raised in the past five months - 78 percent - has gone to 36 companies with market caps greater than $1 billion. Curiously, the fundraising binge has skipped the group currently valued at $700 million to $1 billion, with another 12 percent of the funds going to companies with market caps of $300-$700 million. In any case, there are still a significant number of companies that have not yet taken advantage of the window to top up their coffers. Thus this spate of fundraising still has some legs. On the other hand, the window is barely open for companies valued under $300 million, and is basically shut for companies valued under $100 million.
