UBS alums resurface at Cowen

Cowen & Co. hired two sellside analysts from the quickly disbanding biotech group at UBS Securities. Veteran Tim Wilson joined Cowen International L.P. as managing director in the firm's London office, and Eric Schmidt joined Cowen's New York office. Cowen is in the process of being acquired by French-based Societe Generale.

Wilson liked the financial backing that the $345 billion commercial bank would provide for Cowen. "I wanted to join a firm that's committed to doing biotech, yet big enough to have a global reach," he told Ebb & Flow. Post-acquisition, "Cowen's European focus is going to be increased," he noted...
