U.K. moves toward therapeutic cloning
OXFORD - While therapeutic cloning remains controversial in the U.S., the U.K. is moving toward sanctioning of a limited form of human cloning for medical research. A group of experts, led by the U.K. government's own chief medical officer, Liam Donaldson, has been examining the issues for more than six months and is expected to conclude that the potential benefits of therapeutic cloning outweigh any ethical objections, and that the law should be changed to allow the practice.
